POSITION TITLE:  Student Information Systems Technology Specialist

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent software skills.
  • Operating System experience (Windows 10 & 11, Chrome OS).
  • Some knowledge of desktops, laptops, Chromebooks and other common peripheral devices.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work in dropped ceilings

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Technology

 

CONTRACT DAYS WORKED:  12 Months

 

JOB GOAL: 

The Student Information Systems Technology Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and training on the district Student Information System (SIS). In addition to providing support for the district SIS, this position is responsible for adding already curated content to the district website, rostering and integrating SIS data with third party programs, and helping the IT department with additional ticket support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains confidentiality,  and unquestionable integrity.
  • Intermediate Account Management skills (Account creation, deletion, security assignment, share configuration)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the student information system.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation.
  • Train and support users on the Student Information System
  • Alert staff of opportunities within the Student Information System that would be beneficial to the operation or best practices of the district.
  • Post items to the district website as requested by district staff.
  • Roster and integrate SIS Data with third party programs as approved by the Technology Director
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare and maintain written documents and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for computer users via phone, remotely or on-site.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times to teachers and support staff.
  • Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot user errors, faulty hardware, or software issues.
  • Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot malfunction of end user devices, including printers, interactive displays, projectors, etc..
  • Password resets and user account creation in active directory and Google.
  • Travels to all school building sites to assist users as needed.
  • Assist with special technology projects as required.
  • Attend meetings and training as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Terms of Employment:  Wage and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education.

 

Evaluation:  Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the

   provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

 

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Other duties as assigned.  This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.

* Supervises classroom, students, aides, volunteers, and areas as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

* Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas.

* Physical demands can include but are not limited to:  Exerts up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual.

* Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.

* Mental demands can include but are not limited to:  Comparing, copying, computing,

   compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
