POSITION TITLE:    Embedded Math and English/ WorkKeys Coordinator

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Appropriate and valid Missouri DESE certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Valid Missouri driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of Career and Technical Education
  • Experience in formative assessment, cooperative learning techniques and data analysis.

 

REPORTS TO:   Director of the Kirksville Area Technical Center

 

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:   700 hours

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide quality instruction to students in the field of mathematics and English.
  • Provide quality instruction to students in the field of personal finance/health.
  • Raise the awareness of quality math skills in the workplace to career education students.
  • Provide lessons/techniques to Career Education instructors in the order to improve math and English instruction in the classroom.
  • Coordinate the instruction and assessment of the WorkKeys ACT assessment to students.
  • Development and Incorporation of student portfolios for students to increase their employability.

 

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in professional development activities in order to remain current on trends in the fields of career services and education.
  • Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, their parents, as well as business and industry concerning student performance in the career and technical education program.

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

* Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas

   and other assigned areas.

* Physical demands can include but are not limited to:  Exerts up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally,

   and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects

   including items such as shipped packages.

* Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling,

   reaching, and other limited physical activities are required.

* Mental demands can include but are not limited to:  Comparing, copying, computing,

   compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
