Title: Process Coordinator

Length of Contract: 9 months

Qualifications: Valid Teaching Certificate, Special Education Certification, Master’s Degree

Responsible To: Director of Special Services and Building Administrator

 

Essential Duties: 

  • Responsible for assisting faculty with the coordination, implementation and  

documentation of the special education compliance process

  • Liaison between schools and central office
  • Facilitate complex IEP meetings
  • Support teacher with planning for IEP and ER timelines
  • Assist and teach the teacher with setting dates for when to: begin each step of the process, send notifications of meetings, send draft documents home, schedule meetings
  • Monitor timelines
  • Support the teacher in order to build capacity around development of an IEP
  • Assist and teach the teacher how to have LRE discussions with the IEP team to ensure the student has the appropriate supports, services, and accommodations in order to be involved in and make progress in the general education curriculum with nondisabled peers
  • Assist and teach the teacher how to utilize appropriate data collection systems to ensure the data is being collected and analyzed in order to drive instruction and to report quarterly IEP goal progress
  • Assist and teach the teacher how to facilitate an IEP team discussion on related services, specifically when they are required to assist the student to benefit from special education
  • Build capacity of teachers with basic behavior instruction including conducting FBAs and writing BIPs
  • Support the teacher with the SPED evaluation process from referral to eligibility
  • Attend Discipline Review Meetings and Facilitate Manifestation Determination meetings
  • Assist and teach teachers with completing assessments or conducting student observations for evaluations, as needed
  • Compile building profile data to facilitate conversations within each building around the data (caseload, incidence rate, placement, initial referrals)
  • Ensure teachers are keeping students’ special services files up to date
  • Complete periodic file reviews during the school year
  • Participate in weekly Process Coordinator meetings
  • Communicate and collaborate with the building principal regularly
  • Serve as LEA at meetings
  • Plan and facilitate collaborative problem-solving meetings to address student needs (eg. behavior, transportation) 
  • Provide training and support for any Special Services software
  • Understand and support District initiatives
  • Responsible for leading and supporting school staff with the implementation of effective practices in specific areas of disability 
  • Build capacity of teachers to instruct students using general education, supplemental, and alternative curriculum
  • Models effective instruction, interventions and strategies for staff
  • Communicate and collaborate with district and building staff
  • Communicate and collaborate with the building principal regularly
  • Understand and support District initiatives
  • Collaborate with building principal to assess staffing needs
